Basketball Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

Trinity and Canton Central Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Trinity had to settle for second. They were dealt a 62-34 defeat at the hands of the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Justin Sims and Cooper Hughes certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Sims posted seven points and seven rebounds, while Hughes earned six points and six boards.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Canton Central Catholic, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-6.

Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canton Central Catholic, they will take on Richmond Heights at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Richmond Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully Canton Central Catholic likes a good challenge.
