Basketball Game Preview: Highland Tech Rams vs. Burns Bulldogs

Highland Tech is 1-9 against Burns since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Highland Tech is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Stuart W. Cramer on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Rams were beaten by the Storm 64-27. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Storm are ranked 77th).

Meanwhile, Burns entered their tilt with Bessemer City on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Yellow Jackets 65-35.

Highland Tech's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Burns, their record now sits at 15-3.

Highland Tech opened the new year with a less-than-successful 56-43 defeat to Burns. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
