Soccer Game Preview: Oak Forest vs. Argo

The Oak Forest Bengals will venture away from home to square off against the Argo Argonauts at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Forest's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Oak Forest took a six-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Reavis, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bengals never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Oak Forest as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Argo made sure to put some goals up on the board against Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Meteors with a sharp 7-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Argo's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Oak Forest's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those seven contests. As for Argo, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.

Oak Forest suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Argo in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bengals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
