Volleyball Recap: Austin Starts Season with Win Against Vista Ridge

Austin gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They came out on top against the Vista Ridge Rangers by a score of 3-1. The Maroons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rangers, too.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 25-16.

Among those leading the charge was Laven Blumoff, who had 12 digs and two assists.

Austin was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Coming up, Austin will face off against Lehman at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Vista Ridge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Cedar Park on the 12th.
