Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Evan Rolston and Jamison Johns Lead Central Montcalm to Victory

Central Montcalm was handed a 47-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over West Michigan Aviation Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since February 19, 2024.

Leading Central Montcalm to victory were Jamison Johns and Evan Rolston. Johns went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Rolston posted 12 points in addition to five assists and four steals. That's the most assists Rolston has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayne Cooper, who scored 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

With the win, Central Montcalm broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. As for West Michigan Aviation Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Central Montcalm didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-24 loss against Grant on the 14th. As for West Michigan Aviation Academy, they will take on Lee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Michigan Aviation Academy is facing Lee at the right time seeing as Lee is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
