Basketball Game Preview: Newark Catholic Green Wave vs. Ridgedale Rockets

The Newark Catholic Green Wave are taking a road trip to challenge the Ridgedale Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Newark Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.

Newark Catholic saw some tournament action on Friday. They took down Granville Christian Academy 68-53. The Green Wave haven't had any issues with Granville Christian Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Griffin Urdarovski was the offensive standout of the contest as he posted 14 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 15 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Stone, who put up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Ridgedale hadn't done well against Waynesfield-Goshen recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Friday. Ridgedale put the hurt on Waynesfield-Goshen with a sharp 69-44 win. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Ridgedale is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Newark Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-16.

Newark Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Ridgedale when the teams last played back in March of 2019, winning 54-41. Does Newark Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ridgedale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
