Baseball Recap: Bolton Comes Up Short

Bolton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 13-3 to Fayette Ware. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Fayette Ware this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-4 on Monday.

Myles Runnels made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Bolton is 2-1 when Runnels posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alex Cottrell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases.

Bolton's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Fayette Ware, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bolton will square off against Trezevant at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fayette Ware, they will challenge Greenfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
