Basketball Recap: Whiteoak Falls Short of South Webster in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Whiteoak can now relate to. They took a blow against the South Webster Jeeps on Tuesday, falling 70-34. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 661st, while the Jeeps are ranked 45th).

It was another big night for Eli Roberts, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds for South Webster. What's more, Roberts posted three steals, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Dylan Shupert was another key player, shooting 50% from the field on his way to 11 points and five steals.

Whiteoak has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. South Webster's win bumped their record up to 19-3.

Whiteoak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Webster, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-44 victory against Fairfield on the 2nd.
