Summit's loss ends three-game winning streak on the road

Recap: Summit Tigers vs. Moffat County Bulldogs

After a string of three wins, the Summit Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 50-41 to Moffat County. Summit was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Moffat County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Summit saw an underclassman step up: Kenya Rodriguez scored 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. Kayla Smith was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds.

Mena Tucker was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with seven assists and seven steals for Moffat County. Tucker hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Emma Tucker, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.

Summit's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9. As for Moffat County, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Summit's road trip will continue as they head out to face Steamboat Springs at 12:30 p.m. on February 10th. Steamboat Springs is coming into the contest with three straight wins at home, so Summit is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Moffat County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Delta at 2:00 p.m. on February 10th. Delta is coming into the contest with six straight wins at home, so Moffat County is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
