Softball Recap: Waterford Wildcats vs. Denair Coyotes

Sadly, Waterford is still looking for their first win of the season after 12 contests. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 17-6 walloping at the hands of the Denair Coyotes on Tuesday. Waterford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Denair apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

For Denair's part, Cadence Baldwin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Baldwin was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, Braelyn Marroquin was incredible, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Cloey Ellerd was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.

Denair is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
