Volleyball Recap: Michigan City Wolves vs. Chesterton Trojans

Michigan City lost against Chesterton back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wolves fell 3-1 to the Trojans. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Michigan City ultimately came up short, they really made Chesterton work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 21-25, 29-27, 25-19.

Russel Sabando paced Michigan City's offense, picking up 11 kills. Sabando got some help from Mark Mills and his 30 assists. Donavin Kappel controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Chesterton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Adam LeNeave out in front who had 14 digs and one assist. Cesar Mendoza was another key player, getting 18 digs and one assist.

Michigan City now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Chesterton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Michigan City is set to challenge their familiar foe Crown Point at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Chesterton will take on rival South Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
