Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Pueblo

Pueblo had won three straight games and America Cazares did her part to make it four on Friday. The Pueblo Warriors simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Buena Colts 70-38 thanks in part to Cazares, who went 10 of 25 on her way to 28 points and eight steals. Her evening made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Asia Clark was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.

Buena's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Icsiss Perez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Kalel Palacios, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Pueblo's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for Buena, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Pueblo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-66 win against Catalina Foothills on the 20th. Buena has also already played their next contest, a 54-48 defeat against Rincon/University on the 20th.
