Baseball Recap: El Capitan Wins Going Away Against Merced

El Capitan never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Merced Bears with a sharp 9-0 victory. The Gauchos haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Merced's batters probably weren't too happy with Zachary Hunter, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up a single walk).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jesse Saucedo, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Cooper Gaoiran was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: El Capitan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Merced didn't got any hits.

El Capitan's record is now 17-9-1. As for Merced, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-19.

As of now, neither El Capitan nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
