Volleyball Recap: Venus Comes Up Short

Venus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Kennedale Wildcats, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 25-12.

Abbie York paced Venus' offense, picking up seven kills. York were helped by Izel Gonzalez and Delilah Martinez, who contributed four assists each.

Venus' defeat dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Kennedale, they pushed their record up to 12-14 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Venus will challenge rival Hillsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kennedale is set to square off against their familiar foe Life Waxahachie at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
