Basketball Game Preview: Desert Christian Eagles vs. Tanque Verde Hawks + Official Tickets

The Desert Christian Eagles are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Tanque Verde Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tanque Verde took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Desert Christian, who comes in off a win.

Desert Christian is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Mountainside: they outscored them in every quarter. The Eagles enjoyed a cozy 53-37 victory over the Wolves on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Samuel Alday had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 15 points and 21 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (50%). Another player making a difference was Terrence Lewis, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Tanque Verde was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Coolidge, falling 74-40. The game marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Tanque Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Desert Christian, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Things could have been worse for Desert Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-54 loss to Tanque Verde when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
