The Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors will head out to square off against the Bolles Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Trinity Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Harvest Community by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Conquerors needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
The team relied heavily on Nakaela Williams, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Makayla Pratt also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Trinity Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Bolles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Orange Park. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 27, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Maggie Stephens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Aleda Cashwell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Leighton Dostie, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Trinity Christian Academy's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Bolles, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Trinity Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bolles struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Trinity Christian Academy took their win against Bolles in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 13-5 score. Will the Conquerors repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
