Softball Game Preview: Bishop Canevin Crusaders vs. Cornell Raiders

The Bishop Canevin Crusaders will venture away from home to square off against the Cornell Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither Bishop Canevin nor Cornell posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Bishop Canevin lost 13-1 to Sewickley Academy on Monday. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bishop Canevin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macie McClain, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. McClain also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cornell's offense. They came up short against Sewickley Academy on Wednesday, falling 15-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Bishop Canevin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Cornell, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Everything went Bishop Canevin's way against Cornell in their previous meeting back in April of 2016, as Bishop Canevin made off with a 12-3 victory. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
