Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pawnee). They blew past the Edison Eagles 20-5 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Black Bears sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Luke Mitchell was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kash Demauro, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Pawnee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Pawnee's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-17. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Edison, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-17.
Pawnee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edison, they will face off against Mounds at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
