Volleyball Recap: Pittsburg Comes Up Short

Pittsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Deer Valley Wolverines, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-14.

Tamya Lemons paced Pittsburg's offense, picking up seven kills. Lemons were helped by Leilani Flood and Zelanda Coleman, who contributed six assists each. Lemons also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alicia Suacillo, each putting up two.

Pittsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Deer Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pittsburg will face off against rival Antioch at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Deer Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Freedom at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
