Basketball Game Preview: Marysville Getchell vs. Stanwood Spartans

Marysville Getchell will face off against the Stanwood Spartans at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Marysville Getchell will be strutting in after a victory while Stanwood will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, Marysville Getchell earned a 56-43 win over Seattle Academy. Given Marysville Getchell's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Seattle Academy is ranked 249th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Stanwood took a blow against Arlington on Monday, falling 66-38. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Stanwood's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Marysville Getchell, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
