Basketball Game Preview: River Road Wildcats vs. Dalhart Wolves

The River Road Wildcats will take on the Dalhart Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. River Road is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season.

River Road is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since December 10, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Bushland, falling 52-32.

Despite their defeat, River Road saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alex Warren, who posted seven points and five boards, was perhaps the best of all. Xavier Lowery was another key player, putting up six points.

Meanwhile, Dalhart beat Canadian 39-28 on Friday. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Wildcats are ranked 866th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

River Road's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Dalhart, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

River Road didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Dalhart in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 45-40 victory.
