Softball Recap: Wilton Comes Up Short

Wilton couldn't beat Norwalk on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Warriors fell just short of the Bears by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Katerina Cross was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those triples marked the first that she has hit this season. Emma Van Heyst was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Wilton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Norwalk, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Wilton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-4 loss against Lyman Hall on the 19th. As for Norwalk, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Notre Dame Prep on the 19th.
