Basketball Recap: Thornton Fractional North Meteors vs. Bogan Bengals

The Thornton Fractional North Meteors were the 63-49 winner over the Bogan Bengals when they last played one another back in November of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Thornton Fractional North fell 59-47 to the Bengals on Sunday.

When it comes to explaining why Thornton Fractional North lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaylen Blakes. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. Leon Cooks was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Thornton Fractional North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Thornton Fractional North's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Bogan, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Thornton Fractional North and the Lemont HS will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Bogan, they will head out on the road to take on the Admirals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Farragut is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
