Softball Recap: Discovery Comes Up Short

After flying high against Valor Academy last Friday, Discovery came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the Sun Valley Magnet Pioneers on Monday, falling 27-9. The Warriors have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Ambert Robert was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Discovery's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sun Valley Magnet, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Discovery will square off against Bert Corona Charter at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.75 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sun Valley Magnet, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Valor Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
