Basketball Game Preview: Worth County Tigers vs. Pattonsburg Panthers

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 65-35, which was the final score in Worth County's tilt against Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] are ranked 87th).

Despite their defeat, Worth County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Audrey Runde, who posted seven points and five assists, was perhaps the best of all. Those five assists gave Runde a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kristen Tracy, who earned 12 points.

Meanwhile, Pattonsburg earned a 47-38 victory over North Harrison on Tuesday.

Worth County has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Pattonsburg, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Worth County strolled past Pattonsburg in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 58-43. Will Worth County repeat their success, or does Pattonsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
