Baseball Recap: East Windsor's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lewis Mills, East Windsor was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the East Granby Crusaders. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Elias Jacobs and AJ Paradis were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Jacobs tossed six innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Meanwhile, Paradis tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because East Windsor is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-15 otherwise. At bat, Jacobs went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Paradis went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. That's the most runs Jacobs has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Witzke, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Glemboski, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

East Windsor's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-12 and their overall record up to 4-16. As for East Granby, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

East Windsor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Granby, they will square off against Farmington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
