Basketball Recap: Berkeley Prep Falls Short of Tampa Catholic in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Berkeley Prep can now relate to. They fell to the Tampa Catholic Crusaders 61-56. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Crusaders are ranked 35th).

Tampa Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Campbell-Finch led the charge by putting up 15 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The game was Campbell-Finch's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Willie Piggott, who went 5 of 8 to rack up 17 points.

Berkeley Prep's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Tampa Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 19-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Berkeley Prep nor Tampa Catholic have any future games scheduled.
