Basketball Recap: Newton Falls Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

If Crestview wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Newton Falls, they should've done a better job of containing Landon McGregor. The Newton Falls Tigers came out on top against the Crestview Rebels by a score of 56-45 on Tuesday thanks in part to McGregor, who went 6 of 8 en route to 15 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Carson Howard was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists. He also posted a block, marking his first of the season.

Crestview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyler Savage, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Savage a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Best, who posted six points along with five assists and five steals.

Newton Falls has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Crestview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Newton Falls wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-49 win against Garfield on the 31st. As for Crestview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-38 victory against Champion on the 31st.
