Basketball Recap: Overton Comes Up Short

Overton's last matchup with Wenonah could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Wolverines were beaten by the Dragons 89-58.

Wenonah's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devonte Penn, who went 8-for-12 on his way to 19 points and three steals. Penn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brendon Davis, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 20 points.

Overton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wenonah, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Overton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-32 defeat against Jackson Central Merry on the 26th. As for Wenonah, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 88-62 loss against Whitehaven on the 26th.
