Basketball Recap: Ennis Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Van

Van typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Ennis proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 47-31 win over the Van Vandals. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 726th, while the Vandals are ranked 354th).

Ennis is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Van, with the loss, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-5.

Ennis has already played their next contest, a 67-64 defeat against Athens on the 28th. As for Van, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 47-44 win against Greenville on the 28th.
