Jefferson Township extended their winning streak to nine on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 9-0 in the process. They never let the Vernon Vikings get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Give the Falcons' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

As for Vernon, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Vernon's part, Miranda Ebbighausen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. Ebbighausen has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Jefferson Township will square off against Roxbury at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Vernon, they will face off against Boonton at 4:00 p.m. on May 1.
