Basketball Game Preview: Chincoteague Ponies vs. Nandua Warriors

Chincoteague hasn't had much luck against Nandua recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chincoteague Ponies will challenge the Nandua Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Thursday, Chincoteague was beaten by Arcadia 82-50.

Chincoteague's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Matthew Taylor, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Camaury Davis, who posted 17 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Taylor is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game.

Meanwhile, Nandua was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 67-41 to Norfolk Christian. The Warriors were down 58-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Chincoteague's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Nandua, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Things could have been worse for Chincoteague, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-54 loss to Nandua in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Chincoteague avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
