Basketball Recap: Mt. Rainier Takes a Loss

Mt. Rainier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Auburn Riverside Ravens and fell 57-28. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Ravens are ranked 124th).

Auburn Riverside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was CK Kandola, who posted 24 points and seven assists. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Loewy, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds.

Mt. Rainier's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Auburn Riverside, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7.

Mt. Rainier has already played their next game, a 58-36 loss against Kentwood on the 28th. As for Auburn Riverside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-35 defeat against Kennedy Catholic on the 28th.
