Baseball Game Preview: Bosque Bobcats vs. East Mountain Timberwolves

The Bosque Bobcats will head out to square off against the East Mountain Timberwolves at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bosque has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Bosque after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 32-15 to Ruidoso. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (12), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Mountain, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Sandia Prep 9-7. The victory continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Sundevils: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Charles Birdwell, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Aidan Madrid, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

East Mountain's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Bosque, their loss dropped their record down to 4-20.

Bosque might still be hurting after the 23-2 defeat they got from East Mountain in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
