Baseball Recap: Lake Placid Triumphs

Lake Placid hadn't done well against Hardee recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Dragons walked away with a 6-3 win over the Wildcats. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 7-3 win back in March.

Lake Placid's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Bauder, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Bauder a new career-high in RBI (two).

The win made it two in a row for Lake Placid and bumps their season record up to 9-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Hardee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Lake Placid does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hardee, they will venture away from home to square off against Sebring at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Streaks will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
