Football Recap: Nebraska City Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Nebraska City kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 55-0 loss at the hands of the Wahoo Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

Kip Brigham went supernova For Wahoo., rushing for 145 yards and three TDs on only ten carries, while also catching one touchdown. Brigham's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards dating back to last season. Jase Kaminski was another key player, throwing for 63 yards and a pair of TDs.

Looking ahead, Nebraska City will host Douglas County West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wahoo, they will head out to take on Ashland-Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
