Softball Game Preview: Southridge Skyhawks vs. Westview Wildcats

Southridge hasn't had much luck against Westview recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Skyhawks will venture away from home to take on the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Southridge is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Mountainside.

Meanwhile, Westview suffered their closest defeat since April 1st on Friday. They fell just short of Sunset by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Southridge now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Westview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Southridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Westview in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skyhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
