Recap: West Morgan Rebels vs. Cherokee County Warriors
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the West Morgan Rebels can now relate to. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 28-27 to the Warriors. West Morgan's loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
West Morgan's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ti'Airrius Mosley, who picked up 136 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Peters, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Jacob Cornejo, who rushed for 220 yards for Cherokee County. Cornejo is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
West Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 12-1. As for Cherokee County, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
West Morgan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cherokee County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Westminster Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Westminster Christian Academy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
