After losing to Shelton the last time they met, McKinney Christian Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 45-24 win on Friday. Considering the Mustangs have won four games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cody Dow was his usual excellent self, throwing for 257 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes, while also rushing for 39 yards and one score. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Quentin Phillips was in the mix too, providing McKinney Christian Academy with one TD.

Despite the defeat, Shelton had strong showings from Max Boul, who rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown, and Heston Dios, who rushed for 61 yards and one score.

McKinney Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.5 points. As for Shelton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

McKinney Christian Academy will head out to square off against Cypress Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Shelton, they will be playing at home against Dallas Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give Shelton their first taste of in-conference action this season.
