Baseball Recap: Trinity Prep Takes a Loss

Trinity Prep had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-2 to make it five. They lost 10-0 to the Orangewood Christian Rams. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Trinity Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Brady, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Brady is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

As for Orangewood Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average this season.

On Orangewood Christian's side, Aiden Balls was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Balls a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Lambert, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Coming up, Trinity Prep will head out on the road to square off against Bishop Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Orangewood Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orlando Christian Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Rams their first taste of in-conference action this season.
