Softball Game Preview: Onalaska Hilltoppers vs. La Crosse Central Riverhawks

The Onalaska Hilltoppers will venture away from home to face off against the La Crosse Central Riverhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Onalaska fell victim to Tomah and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Timberwolves. The defeat continues a trend for the Hilltoppers in their meetings with the Timberwolves: they've now lost six in a row.

Sydney Kraus 2028 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Meanwhile, La Crosse Central fell victim to Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Red Raiders, falling 15-0. The Riverhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

La Crosse Central now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Onalaska, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Onalaska couldn't quite get it done against La Crosse Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 8-5. Can the Hilltoppers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
