St. Thomas Aquinas extended their home winning streak to 13 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Sherice Newton. The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders claimed a resounding 34-0 win over the Everglades Gators for which the team can thank Newton, who threw for 128 yards and three touchdowns. Newton is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: she's passed for at least three every time she's taken the field this season.

Sayaniz Zaldivar was another key player, picking up 51 receiving yards and two touchdowns. That's the most receiving touchdowns she has posted since back in March of 2024.

St. Thomas Aquinas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Ronneisha Thomas led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

St. Thomas Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Everglades, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, St. Thomas Aquinas will face off against Archbishop McCarthy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Everglades will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Deerfield Beach at 4:30 p.m. on April 2nd.
