Basketball Recap: Rutland Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Colquitt County, Rutland was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 52-44 win over the Twiggs County Cobras. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 78-56 last Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Twiggs County still got an impressive performance from Daniel Pitts, who went 11 of 19 on his way to 31 points. That was a full 70.5% of Twiggs County's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kamauree Butler, who had seven points.

Rutland's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Twiggs County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rutland will take on Northside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Twiggs County, they will be taking part in a tournament against Peach County at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
