Basketball Recap: Howland Wins Going Away Against Maplewood

Howland won the last time they faced Maplewood and things went their way on Friday too. The Howland Tigers strolled past the Maplewood Rockets with points to spare, taking the game 68-54.

Maplewood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Urchek, who went 8 for 16 en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. Those 24 points gave Urchek a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aliah Brumit, who posted 16 points and seven boards.

Howland's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Maplewood, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-2.

Howland has already played their next matchup, a 42-39 victory against Austintown-Fitch on the 1st. As for Maplewood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-14 win against Mathews on the 1st.
