Basketball Recap: Chief Kitsap Academy Falls to Crosspoint in First Game of Season

Chief Kitsap Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 56-31 to the Crosspoint Wildcats on Saturday. The Bears' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it nine in a row dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Chief Kitsap Academy had strong showings from Billy Jones IV, who posted 11 points, and Waylen Sullivan, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points.

With the victory, Crosspoint broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-5.

Chief Kitsap Academy will welcome Sound Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Sound Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Chief Kitsap Academy likes a good challenge. As for Crosspoint, they will host Pope John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crosspoint is facing Pope John Paul II at the right time seeing as Pope John Paul II is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
