Softball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Warriors vs. North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers

The Calvary Christian Warriors will square off against the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Calvary Christian comes in on 11 and North Bay Haven Academy on 15.

Calvary Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Trinity Catholic 6-5. Six seems to be a good number for the Warriors as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Morgen Talley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Talley wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braylee Rano, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Rano is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.

Meanwhile, North Bay Haven Academy faced Westminster Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Buccaneers won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 4-3.

Addison Mallon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on McKenzie Goff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Calvary Christian's victory bumped their record up to 29-1. As for North Bay Haven Academy, their win bumped their record up to 25-3.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Calvary Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. However, it's not like North Bay Haven Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits.
