Basketball Recap: Cardinal Gibbons' Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Cardinal Gibbons ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 60-54 victory over the Enloe Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 59-44 back in January.

Cardinal Gibbons got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Damon Phillips out in front who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave Phillips a new career-high. Griffin Cockerham was another key player, going 6 of 7 en route to 16 points and five rebounds.

Enloe lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Preston Williams, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Gui Wilkins, who went 6 of 9 en route to 17 points.
