Hampshire waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Crossroads Christian CRU with a sharp 18-3 victory. Considering the Whip-Purs have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Joseph Rodriguez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Jonathan Alexander was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ari Fivelson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hampshire's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Crossroads Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampshire will square off against Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Whip-Purs 3.4, the Rockets 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Crossroads Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Beecher at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
