Tomball faced Harlan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cougars fell 2-0 to the Hawks. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Heidi Horan paced Tomball's offense, picking up five kills. Horan got some help from Greysen Ortmeier and her nine assists. Kailynn Fosdick controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Harlan to victory were Cheyenne Canche and Cecily Fernandez. Canche had eight digs and two aces, while Fernandez had 11 digs.

Tomball's loss dropped their record down to 21-3. As for Harlan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Tomball didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Seven Lakes on the 29th. As for Harlan, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Cypress Ranch on the 29th.
