Basketball Recap: La Salle Piles Up the Points Against Bishop Fenwick

A well-balanced attack led La Salle over Bishop Fenwick in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the La Salle Lancers blew the Bishop Fenwick Falcons out of the water with a 67-37 final score. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Falcons are ranked 400th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

La Salle had a senior duo take command as Drae Arnold went 7 of 8 on his way to 15 points along with five boards and three steals and Patrick Mclaughlin posted 12 points and five steals. Mclaughlin is becoming a predictor of La Salle's success: when he posts at least five steals the team is 7-3 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brady O?Connor, who had six points and three steals.

La Salle was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Fenwick only racked up seven assists.

When it comes to explaining why Bishop Fenwick lost, don't look at Eddie Ferraro. Despite the final result, he earned 11 points.

La Salle's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Bishop Fenwick, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

La Salle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-46 loss against Archbishop Moeller on the 24th. Bishop Fenwick has also already played their next match, a 65-49 defeat against Archbishop Alter on the 24th.
